The Three Oaks Business Association (TOBA)
has been promoting local businesses since the 1980's. In the early days, farmers
would come to town on Friday nights to shop, get a bite to eat and to visit with
friends on the street. The evening social life is alive and well, as Three Oaks
now enjoys a movie theater as well as a live performance theater, which features
some pretty impressive national and regional talent. Every third Saturday,
April-November, the downtown galleries, shops and restaurants stay open late for
the Third Saturday, Three Oaks Town Walk. The Hwy 12 corridor is a destination
for additional shopping, restaurants and services.
Three Oaks features
a variety of beautiful parks. Dewey Cannon Park is often the setting for weddings,
reunions and events, including the Music in the Park concert series every Saturday
evening of summer. Watkins Park is full of activity with little league games, a
playground and the Hoadley Nature Path. Carver Park is a wonderful spot for a picnic,
while downtown Chamberlain Path is home to beautiful sculpture by several highly-esteemed
artists.
Three Oaks small-town
charm inspires year 'round. The Flag Day Weekend Celebration in June features the
world's largest Flag Day Parade and a full weekend of softball, Art in the Park,
beauty queens, trucks and tractors, live music and more. The area is perfect for
bike-riders who are up for a challenge or those seeking leisurely terrain and beautiful
tree-lined roads. We still proudly identify with our ever-evolving farm community,
now including organic farmers and a Saturday Farmers Market during the summer.
Winter activities include snow-mobiling, cross-country skiing or dinner and theater!
This culturally-rich
little town of Three Oaks is home to the Christmas movie favorite, "Prancer". And Three
Oaks was honored when children's book author Blue Balliet, chose Three Oaks as the
setting for her recent book "The Danger Box." Come for the experience of culture,
along with a slice of Americana and the small town charm of friendly Three Oaks, MI.
